15/12/2025
Concordian International School's winter issue covers memorial ceremonies for Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, the Centerstage@15 talent show, CISMUN IV (raising over 300,000 Baht for the Class of 2027 School Build), the International University Fair hosting 60+ universities, and Week Without Walls trips including Grade 9 exchange programs at Keystone Academy Beijing and Bashu Secondary School Chongqing.
Issue 45 is the Winter Issue of IMPACT, the magazine of Concordian International School in Bangkok, covering the months of September through November 2025. It opens with two memorial ceremonies held on November 14, 2025 in honor of Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, led by Founding Director Khun Varnnee Chearavanont Ross, Thai Principal Ajarn Vichitvong Chanarat, and Head of School Mr. Laurent Goetschmann. Editor Dessy Delevaux notes that during the national mourning period several events were postponed, including the school's 25th Anniversary Celebration, while others were adapted, such as the Loy Krathong festival, which was observed in Thai classes rather than as a celebratory event.
The edition revisits major cultural traditions: the PYP and Secondary Wai Kru (Teacher Appreciation) ceremonies in September, the Mid-Autumn Festival on October 6 with a Shu Dao Cup Calligraphy Contest, and Centerstage@15, the PY talent show held October 10 at the Grand Theater, which honored 11 Super Nova Awardees and 7 Crystal Plaque recipients. From October 3 to 5, Concordian hosted IB workshops bringing together approximately 250 educators for the DP, MYP, and PYP programmes.
Academic and college-readiness events feature prominently, including the third annual IB Diploma Programme Fair on October 8 and the International University Fair on November 13, which welcomed more than 60 universities from over 10 countries to meet Grade 9 to 12 students. CISMUN IV, the school's fourth Model United Nations conference (October 25 to 26), raised over 300,000 Baht for the Class of 2027 School Build, supported further by the Lhung Baan V.3 fundraising concert on October 22.
Numerous field trips and grade-level Week Without Walls journeys are covered, from Hua Hin, Khao Yai, Sukhothai and Kanchanaburi to China, where Grade 9 joined exchange programs at Keystone Academy (Beijing), Shanghai No.2 High School, and Bashu Secondary School (Chongqing), and Grade 11 completed a School Build in Chiang Mai. Athletics coverage includes EY and PY Sports Days, an undefeated Grade 5 Boys basketball championship, a second-place G5U Girls team, and a Varsity victory for the Concordian Dragons at the Track and Field meet, closing with an interview from the Samakoses family.
