Issue 12 of IMPACT, the Winter Issue dated January 2015, marks the start of the second semester at Concordian International School, the trilingual IB World School in Bangkok. In her editor's note, Shelley Harris reflects on the school's unique chance to celebrate three distinct New Years, Western, Chinese and Thai, each sharing a common theme of looking forward with hope. The school counseling team's Values Program, led by Ms. Yvette, sets out the Values of the Month for semester two: Responsibility in January, Friendship in February, Integrity in March, Compassion/Empathy in April and the Golden Rule in May.
In the Concordian Showcase, the Dragons finished first in their group at the South East Asia International Schools (SEAIS) U-16 6-a-side Football Tournament in Yangon, losing 3-2 to BCIS in the closing minutes of the final, with Tan the tournament's leading scorer at 6 goals. Coach Koki is interviewed after the U-15 boys basketball team won the TISAC League Championship. K2 student Sinanya Baiphowongse (Ing Ing) won 2nd prize in a story-telling competition, and Grade 10 student Mei Kiengsiri was a runner-up in the University of Melbourne's "Water, Water Everywhere" photo competition, winning a $100 Amazon gift certificate. In the UKMT Senior Mathematical Challenge held in November 2014, students in Grades 10-12 earned 3 Gold, 5 Silver and 20 Bronze certificates.
Alumni Sun (UCLA) and Fong (New York University) share their first-year college experiences.
