This inaugural issue of IMPACT, the quarterly magazine of Concordian International School in Bangkok, covers August to December 2010, opening the 2010-2011 academic year as the school marks its 10th anniversary. Director Varnnee Ross, High School Principal Dr. James Leung and Elementary and Middle School Principal Laurent Goetschmann introduce the new publication, which replaces the monthly newsletter "The Concordian." Dr. Leung recounts the school's growth from the trilingual Primary Years Programme founded in 2001 to a full IB World School running PYP, MYP and Diploma programmes, graduating its first cohort in 2010.

Thai cultural life features prominently, with Wai Kru Day on September 23 and Loy Krathong celebrated on November 19. A Grade 12 charity night, "Phaenpirom Chom Duen," raised 50,480 Baht for the Ban Bangkea Senior Citizen Home. Early and Primary Years coverage highlights Units of Inquiry, a Royal Thai Airforce Museum aviation study, and more than 100 new students joining the school. The Middle Years section profiles the Community and Service "Hearts and Hands" programme and student writing on Sufficiency Economics, while the Diploma Programme reports on a Grade 11 Magic Eyes Barge Trip studying water quality on the Chao Phraya River.

Community, national and global service efforts are central. Students raised 20,520 Baht at the Ploenchit Fair, ran a Junior Achievement company called Mareang selling 570 mosquito-repellent sacks, and Grade 11 raised over 165,000 Baht with the Baby Mime show to build Baan Huai Sai School in Chiang Mai. Flood relief drives raised 114,423.50 Baht, and a Thanksgiving dinner raised 80,150 Baht. CIS students also took part in TEDx Krungthep and a UNESCO Youth Peace Ambassador workshop in Hiroshima.

The DREAM FAR section celebrates the first graduating class: of 13 IB Diploma candidates, all passed above the minimum 24 points, three scored 40 or above, one achieved the maximum 45, and the school average was 36 against a worldwide average of 29.53, with acceptances across the USA, UK, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and Thailand.
